Le Guaite di Noemi Vineyard, Veneto
- Despite the relative infancy of the estate, the Pizzighella family has a deep connection to the land in the hillsides and valleys of Valipolicella. Starting off with a few acres of olive groves and a small crusher in 1987, the family went on to purchase additional acres of vineyard plantings in the highest sites around the village of Mezzane di Sotto in 2002, wishing to grow exceptional quality Valipolicella grapes with the same passion that they have for their olive oil.
- Stefano and Giulietta Pizzighella’s daughter, Noemi, began helping her parents in the vineyards and cellar at the tender age of 8. Initially, much of the estates grape production was sold to nearby wineries with a small portion set aside to make wine for the Pizzighella’s own personal consumption. However, with every passing vintage, Noemi’s passion and commitment to her vines and region grew, and in 2016, with the support of her parents by her side, Noemi took over the day-to-day viticulture and winemaking at the estate.
- Today, the estate produces 25,000 bottles per year, in the traditional styles of the region which include the world-renowned Amarone, Ripasso and Recioto.
