Nunzi Conti, TuscanyThe Nunzi Conti vineyard consistently produces award-winning Chianti wines. The Nunzi Conti family owns the beautiful Villa Barberino estate in one of the most picturesque parts of Chianti Classico territory. Here the mild and sunny climate has proved ideal for successful viticulture over many centuries. The Villa Barberino estate covers 80 hectares and comprises vineyards and olive groves as well as a natural home to the goats, wild boar, pheasants and hares that also make an appearance on the Nunzi Conti Chianti and olive oil labels. The family began their adventure in the wine business at the end of the 1880s when Gualtiero Nunzi left his small village in the Tuscan mountains and went to seek his fortune in Florence. He succeeded and was able to buy the family’s first vineyard in the heart of the Chianti Classico area. Today the business is run by Gualtiero’s son Maurizio and his grandchildren Antonio and Isabella with expert winemaker Giampaolo Chiettini. The original estate buildings have been lovingly restored to their former glory and this sympathetic restoration of the estate’s buildings allows a continuation with the past while cutting edge technology, research and experimentation look to the future. All aspects of this still family-run business are carried out with passion and commitment and all this shines through in the quality of Nunzi Conti wine. Taste the ruby-coloured Chiantis and raise a glass to thank Gualtiero for his vision! Chianti Classico Chianti Classico Riserva Gran Selezione |
