The Giusti & Zanza vineyard has its roots firmly planted in the history of Tuscan wine-making. It came about with the renovation of an old winery which had been producing wine as far back as the early 19th century in the Fauglian hills (an area of Tuscany in the Province of Pisa).
It almost sounds like we are making it up but current Giusti & Zanza wines are named after characters from an Italian opera: L’Elisir d’Amore (aptly enough ‘The Elixir of Love’) one of the most popularly performed operas by Gaetano Donizetti. Signor Giusti – one of the original wine-makers – is a complete Italian opera buff and knows many operas by heart. What could be more poetical than wine and opera?
The wines have bold, colourful labels to match the characters and their passionate story. We are in love with their Nemorino wines: a pretty, vivacious white (Nemorino Bianco) and a sultry tenor-like red (Nemorino Rosso). The perfect accompaniment to a good story and guaranteed to make your heart sing!
