The Arthouse Wine team
Dario is Anglo-Italian. Following training with the WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) and an apprenticeship with an excellent wine retailer in London, he now divides his time between the U.K and Italy, where his role is to seek out boutique cantinas. All our producers farm sustainably, producing some of Italy's best organic and biodynamic wines that we can all enjoy for as long as there are bottles; no two vintages are the same, so Dario has to make sure our stock is consistently good. Our ethos is to move away from the well-known classics and find those hidden cantinas who produce quality Italian wine that until now has only been drunk by the Italians themselves. Their producers don’t need to advertise as every local town and village already knows about them, now we aim to give you the chance too! Our vineyards are all modest in size and family run, sharing similar outlooks when it comes to producing wine of quality over quantity. Today, Dario and his producers strive to bring Italy’s best wines to those of us who love Italy, scooters, tomatoes, olive oil, pasta, fashion and of course, exquisite Italian wine.
Maura looks after sales and orders from beautiful Somerset and when not at her desk she is zipping about finding cool little hidden gems of cafes, restaurants, bars and bistros and those independent-minded wine drinkers who are looking for new, exciting, stylish wines from quality, caring producers. She loves all things Italian and is generous-spirited enough to want to share her best-kept bottled secrets.
Clare is WSET trained, has built the website and looks after all things visual; as the Italians say ‘the eye has its place.’ She loves exploring new things, especially our 'boutique' Italian wines with us and she makes sure we look as great as we taste.
We hope we can introduce you to new and exciting wines - we would like Arthouse Wine to be your amici, inviting you in for a spontaneous drink so 'grab a glass and try this, you're going to love it'.....
