Ca’ Lustra has been constantly evolving since the 1960’s when Angelo Zanovello, an engineer and son of farmers, bought the house in Faedo as a countryside retreat. With such fertile soil to farm on, it didn’t take long for his son Franco to discover a passion for winemaking and in 1977 the winery, a raggedy room situated in the stables, was formally founded.
Time passed and developments escalated quickly with new improvements both in the cellar and in the vineyard, which today boasts a healthy 25 hectares under vine. It is still run with the same original passion and ethics by Franco and both his son Marco and daughter Linda as well as the aid of some very experienced farm-hands.
The vineyard has been farmed organically since 2008, using traditional winemaking principles, spontaneous fermentations, no clarifications and minimised sulphite usage.
