Calalta Vineyard, Monte Grappa, Veneto
- Calalta is a small winery located amongst the foothills of Monte Grappa in the northern Veneto at an altitude of up to 200 metres. With no more than five hectares under vine, much of the work is done by hand and farmed organically.
- Owned by the Brunetti family, it was only in 2009, after many years of selling the grapes onto other winemakers and preserving some of their own wine for friends and family, that they began to replant the vineyards aiming to produce the highest quality wine possible.
- In 2017, the reins were handed over to son Nicola Brunetti and his partner Giulia who oversee the entire production process, from field to cellar, with a special focus on sustainable farming and preserving the authentic characteristics of the Calalta terroir.
Give me a bowl of wine. I have not that alacrity of spirit nor cheer of mine that I was wont to have" - Shakespeare
