  • Soloterra is a fine example of how Sangiovese can produce a wine of sheer elegance and finesse. Packed full of red fruits such as cherries, strawberries, and cranberries all entwining harmoniously with cloves and violets, giving a wonderfully perfumed expression of Sangiovese as well as a brisk and refreshing acidity.
  • This is a joy to drink either alongside a hearty meal or charcuterie and crusty bread drizzled in Inserrata Tuscan olive oil.
  • Once the grapes have been manually harvested during the coolness of the early hours, they are then transported back to the cellar, located within a stone’s throw of the vines. De-stemming takes place shortly after, with almost a third of the berries being whole cluster which are then pressed and macerated for up to 15 days in stainless steel vats, using only natural yeasts from the vineyard.
  • Ageing takes place in 500-litre amphora vases, made of Impruneta clay, that are more than 3 centimetres thick, non-vitrified or waxed. The natural porosity of the terracotta gives a constant micro-oxygenation, allowing the wine to gain a deep and rich texture.
