- Careful selection of the very best grapes in the vineyard as well as low yields and no chemical additives during the vinification process all help to express and enhance the uniqueness of the Bolgheri terroir in the wine.
- The harvest, which usually takes place at the beginning of September depending on the maturation of each vine, is done by hand early in morning, before sunrise, using small crates. Once the grapes are safely in the cellar, the cooled grapes undergo de-stemming and pressing. Maceration on the skins lasts around 15-20 days in stainless steel tanks.
- Ageing takes place in 5 hectolitre oak barrels for a little over 18 months; after which the wine is bottled and laid to rest for further ageing before release.
- Deeply coloured and intensely flavoursome, on the nose expect generous aromas of black plum, dried cherry, clove and hints of eucalyptus and fresh mint; an unctuous mouth-feel with ripe black cherry, tobacco leaf, bell pepper and a slight balsamic note alongside fine tannins and an elegant acidity.
