The town of Montalcino lies approx 30 miles south of Siena in Tuscany and is as important as Chianti for its wine production. The first record of 'Le Benducce' estate can be traced as far back as 1553 and it has been under the Tornesi ownership since 1850, when Giuseppe Tornesi, father of Gino and grandfather of current owner Maurizio, inherited this captivating piece of land a few hundred metres from the town itself.
The Tornesi family employ meticulous and ecological methods to harvest their vineyards and olive groves. Longstanding tradition makes them true masters of Brunello di Montalcino - forbidding the addition of anything more than the climate provided by Mother Nature. Every member of this family has been raised and has worked within the winery; a family who have the insight and expertise to read the winds and the perfumes of the land, listening to the needs of the vineyard and caring for it with safe and skilful hands. Their wines have been awarded the highest accolades on numerous occasions by the world press, bearing witness to the continuing work of passion and excellence.
